Imtech Traffic and Infra Choose Skyguard to Protect 170 Lone Workers

Imtech 1Imtech Traffic and Infra UK and Ireland (Imtech T&I) have turned to Skyguard to help protect over 170 of their lone workers by issuing them with the MySOS Mandown personal safety device.

The UK’s leading provider of traffic and transport solutions approached Skyguard looking for fully managed lone worker protection provider. Imtech T&I needed a personal safety device that had a high degree of functionality whilst allowing their lone workers to feel comfortable with its use.

After conducting a successful trial of the MySOS Mandown device, Imtech T&I signed up to Skyguard’s 24 hour personal safety service providing 170 of the keyfob-sized alarms to its Engineers, Installers and Service Managers.

The MySOS benefits from a range of features. Its primary function is the ability to raise an alarm at the press of just one button. The user’s alarm call, details and whereabouts are instantly transmitted via mobile phone technology to Skyguard’s dedicated Incident Management Centre (IMC) where trained professionals are on hand, 24 hours a day. With two-way voice communications, GPS tracking and locating and voice memo (amber alert) features, it’s the most complete device in the market today.

Mansukh Panchal, Project Manager for Imtech T&I explains why they chose Skyguard, “We wanted a personal safety device to help safeguard all of our field operational staff, the majority of which are lone workers. We needed a service that users could call for help when working in remote locations and outside normal working hours.”

We liked the MySOS as it was compact and thus, discreet, especially if and when they have to raise the alarm. Having a ‘man down’ facility was also a factor when purchasing from Skyguard.

The MySOS is equipped with a ‘man down’ sensor. This enables the device to automatically send an alarm to the IMC in the event of a fall or sudden impact. The feature is vital if the user slips, trips or is knocked unconscious and is unable to raise an alarm manually.

Imtech T&I’s lone workers also like the fact that the device’s battery can be re-charged via the optional in-car charger accessory… something they were unable to do with their previous supplier. These small but significant details ensures device usage and user confidence remain high.

A competitively-priced subscription to Skyguard’s service includes the MySOS device, 24 hour manned monitoring, full and free access to Skyguard’s ‘Customer Service Centre’ online administration portal, user training, bespoke reporting and dedicated account management. All elements of the service are audited and approved to the highest industry standards, including BS 8484:2016, BS 5979 (Category II) and the Police’s ‘Secured by Design’.
