Skyguard Devices to be used for The Wildlife Trust’s Innovative Centenary Event

Thanks to the help of Skyguard, The Wildlife Trust are celebrating their centenary year with a fun new challenge for companies.

Corporate teams from across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire & Northamptonshire will have just 6 hours to visit as many Wildlife Trust nature reserves as they can – in fancy dress! Saturday 22nd September 2012 is Reserve It! day where corporate teams will be using their skills in planning, decision making and leadership along with their Skyguard tracking devices to travel around the counties visiting as many nature reserves as possible.

Teams will need to decide the best route to take to gain as many points as possible with different reserves being worth different points. Skyguard to Showcase at the Suzy Lamplugh Trust Safer Lone Working Conference

Skyguard will be exhibiting at the Safer Lone Working Conference – a one day interactive conference exploring issues of personal safety whilst lone working.

The event, held on Thursday 26th April 2012 at Celtic Football Club in Glasgow, is organised by the Suzy Lamplugh Trust – the only national charity dedicated to providing practical information and advice about how to reduce the risks of violence and aggression in the workplace.

The day will include interactive group sessions and engaging workshops run by leading consultants. All aspects of safer lone working will be covered, from choosing a personal safety service to protect your lone workers to conducting personal safety risk assessments.

The conference will be opened at 9.30am by special guest Phil Hanlon, Professor of Public Health at the University of Glasgow.

Skyguard are pleased to be part of the event and we will be showcasing all aspects of our service – including live demonstrations of our personal alarms which link to our 24/7 Incident Management Centre.

Team GB Protected by Skyguard’s MySOS Personal Alarms at London 2012

Skyguard are proud to announce that we provided 24/7 protection to Team GB throughout the London 2012 Games. Security staff and key personnel of Great Britain men’s and women’s football teams were issued MySOS personal safety devices to ensure protection wherever they were.

A gagging order which prevented businesses from promoting their involvement in supplying goods and services to London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games has been lifted, allowing us to publicise our involvement last summer.

Skyguard were approached by the Security Innovation and Technology Consortium (SITC) to join their project which gave UK companies an opportunity to showcase innovative technologies at the London 2012 games, whilst implementing a security regime to keep the athletes, spectators and host cities safe and secure.

Although the Olympics represented a significant opportunity for the UK Security Sector to demonstrate advances in technology, it also had to be of a tried and tested standard in an operational capacity. Skyguard’s premier personal safety service met both criteria.
